George Floyd
Biography

George Floyd (b. 1965) was born in Portland, Oregon and grew up in Vancouver before moving to Eugene. He uses wood, canvas, acrylic paint, and wood burning tools to create his works. Floyd has developed his own unique style, creating images outlined by wood-burning and colored using watered-down acrylics. He is open to trying out any type of subject matter but tends to be drawn to Native American imagery, animals, nature, and those around him.
Floyd is a positive and supportive figure in the studio, always enjoying other artists' work. He appreciates the time and love that people put into their creative process. Floyd gets great joy out of sharing his artwork and connecting with others through his work.
His other areas of interest include playing computer games and watching old television shows. Floyd works as greeter at WorkSource Oregon and has been taking classes at the OSLP Arts & Culture Program since the summer of 2013.
